Flat Hunting, July 4, 2014
Happy 4th of July! For the past 3 years we had a cookout at our house with our friends and family, sad to miss out on that this year.
This year we would not be celebrating in the same way. No red, white or blue for us! We took the tube to Pimlico to meet our estate agent (realtor) at his office. He had a few properties for us to look at. #1- A Mew-No way, tiny, weird design choices, but you could tell a lot of money was put into this property. #2- After climbing what felt like 50 flights of stairs this place was great! 3 bedrooms (small) and I loved their style. Their is a private park for the pups nearby but this landlord was not giving up the key :(, I don't know if I could do those stairs everyday. #3 on the first floor WITH a key to the secret garden, I wanted to like it so badly, but I couldn't. It was beautiful with the original features but they made some crazy modern choices...the bathroom was just crazy and the rooms were so tiny with no closets, the best part was the secret key, and entry way- not sure if that would last me for 2 years. Almost next door was #4- On the 2nd and 3rd floor but the landlord had been living there so there were many upgrades! She was Australian, and super excited that we were Americans. She wanted to show me all the American upgrades she added. It was beautiful! We liked it the best but the only issue was no key to the secret garden and the closest park is at least a 15 minute walk away (around the corner according to the London folk). We decided to eat lunch at Pimlico Fresh (yummy!) and make a decision...we decided to put an offer in on #4. Due to America/London bank issues I'll have to keep you updated on if/when we get to move in.
