This week I got to meet up with a friend from Texas! Lauren came to London to visit some friends and jet set for her birthday trip. I'm so glad we got to meet up and hang out. We went to Liberty and did some shopping/looking around. It is SUCH a cute store! It is a high end department store that is known for its floral and graphic prints. We got hungry and stopped in the cafe for a yummy dessert snack. We had just a little time so we went to Harrods and did a quick walk through. Harrods takes up 5 acres making it the largest department store in Europe! I will be going back to look around. I can't wait until it gets decorated for Christmas. They also have a year round Christmas section that I'll have to visit next time. We did get to see 1 of the 2 the Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed memorials before we left. In the glass pyramid is a wine glass with Diana's lipstick print from dinner that night. There is also a ring, thought to be an engagement ring Dodi purchased before their tragic death. I knew my mom would want a pic!
That evening I attended a Young Living Essential Oil information session. I am very curious about these oils and decided to become a member. I can't wait to test out the different oils and see what works for our family. The annual European Conference happens to be down the street from our flat so I will be attending that as well. I am filling up my spare time quickly!
Thursday night Lauren and I met Josh at Dishoom, in Covent Gardens. Josh really wanted to get Indian food and Lauren's sources says this was the place, I was not super excited as I am super picky with my meat. It was a 2.5 hour wait but so yummy! Lauren got tofu (I tried it!), Josh got chicken, and I got shrimp. We shared some bean soup, gunsmoke potatoes, and the best naan I have ever tasted. Lauren and I ended the dinner with a yummy Indian style mango popsicle. I would definitely go back!
On Friday I got my hair cut! I went to a random place in the neighborhood called Trendy Hair...lol. I really liked how she dried my hair and a fresh cut always feels nice. It was the cheapest place I could find and cost me 30 pounds. No tipping in London so it wasn't too bad.
This weekend Josh was really sick. He came home Friday and we had some dinner and went to bed. He slept ALL day Saturday. Sunday I begged to go out for lunch. When we were at Dishoom I saw a Five Guys with a line around it longer than our 2 hour wait. I couldn't stop thinking about it! We did some research and found the Five Guys in Islington usually didn't have a wait. They opened at 11am and we got there at 11:30. They eat lunch so much later here so only Americans were there, and no wait at all! We had some Americans comment on our Baylor shirts. It was the bears first game in the new amazing stadium, so we of course supported them form London. Five Guys was expensive but totally worth it in my book! They had the soda machine from the states (you usually don't get refills, a to-go cup, ice, or much soda selection here), called fries and pickles by name rather than chips and gherkins, and it felt like we were home. We had maybe only eaten at Five Guys a handful of times in Texas but it was a great American treat!

We went home and Josh went back to bed. That evening we met up with Matt and Danielle for our weekly catch up session. We went to Giraffe and had a nice time as always. I went home and looked at all the Baylor pics friends had posted. We have no way to watch the game here so I'll just wake up and check the score. Sic 'Em Bears!!!
***UPDATE*** Happy to wake up and see my Bears won 45-0 against SMU
My grad school buddy got married on Sunday and I was so to miss it. I did think of her all day and can't wait to see pictures! Happy Wedding Day Tracy!!!
