Texas and Colorado, October 7-13, 2015

We have been looking forward to this trip to America! My best friend/sorority sister/roommate was getting married in Colorado. We planned to fly to Houston, have Harvey stay with granny, fly off to Denver, then drive to Colorado Springs...wow what a trip!  This was Harvey's first time to his homeland. I was dreading the 10 hour flight, but the excitement to see family and friends (and Target) outweighed the stress.

We woke up in London to an email that our flight was cancelled! Ahhh...thank goodness it all got figured out and we were still able to get the baby cot on the later flight.

I had read that for long haul flights you could request a baby cot. I had no idea how this would work or what it looked like, but I requested it just in case.

Here is the cot. After take off they pop it right in the wall of the bulk head seat. When we first saw it, we both thought no way would he like it. But evidenced below, he slept in it for 5 out of the 10 hours! What a cool invention. It holds babies up to 25lbs so hopefully we can use it again.

We ate tons of Mexican food and frantically met up with friends. Everyone wanted to meet Harvey!

Josh and I headed to Denver. Harvey stayed with Granny, she had lots of fun things planned. This was the first time I had been away from him overnight, but I knew he was in good hands and I would get lots of pictures.
Saying bye to Harvey
I think he likes them
Granny spoiled Harvey with homemade meatballs and sauce. Hope he isn't expecting this when we get home!

On the plane to Denver
My first flight in a year without a baby. We can travel so light when its the 2 of us! It was a bumpy flight so I was not able to completely enjoy my freedom.

Wedding with a view
The wedding morning we all got ready in the suite at the Broadmoor Hotel. The views were stunning! It was a perfect day.

Texas is sunny!
Since we will not be in Texas for Halloween we had to get dressed up and take some pictures at Granny's house. My little giraffe is so cute!

Off to London
Our trip was short and we didn't get to see everyone we wanted, but we loved being in Texas. I do have to say the restaurants were so baby firendly in America, but the airport was NOT. We have been through many airports in our travels, and Houston was the worst by far. Josh had to get a full inspection along with all of our bags in order for us to bring the formula, this was because their machine is not able to check the formula from the UK.  A bit odd and unorganized but what can you do, no country is perfect.
We got the baby cot again and this time Harvey thought it was funny to sit up and play in it. Once they served dinner and turned the lights down he fell fast asleep.
