March 2015

I'm 9 weeks old
We took a baby to a bar! One of Josh's collogues was having an engagement party at a pub. Mom was getting last minute souvenirs so we took the baby to a pub. It was difficult with the push chair (stroller) but we made it work!
Tired from the pub excitement

Josh and I went on our last date night before mom leaves. We went to see the Book of Mormon with the Stones. It was at the Prince of Wales Theatre. We thought it was funny, but not as funny as I was hoping. The theatre was packed, they were sold out for the night. Crazy to imagine sold out on a Monday night! This is a very popular show.
Off to see Book of Mormon
The next night mom and I went to see Jersey Boys at the Piccadilly Theatre. This was way less crowded than last night. We loved the music! Every song had the audience swaying to the beat, but I think the Brits missed some of the American (Jersey) references.

Well, the day has arrived...mom is flying back to Texas. She found a shuttle that picks up from the hotel next-door and brigs you right to the airport. This is very convenient! We will definitely be using this service again! We will miss her so much and can't wait to see her this summer! And to add to the day Josh is traveling to Nottingham for a few days. Its just me, Harvey and the pups for a few days...yikes!

Happy 5th Birthday Remy!

We made it through our first night alone! Perfect timing, I had planned to meet the Wives for coffee at The Attendant, 7A Foley Street. This is a public toilet turned into a coffee shop. It was very interesting and tiny! It is right by Great Portland Street and Regent Street. If you find yourself out shopping, this would be a great coffee break with a fun story! I got a yummy caramel brownie and hot chocolate as I am not a big coffee drinker.

On Saturday, I attended the Junior League of London All Service Day. This is one day where everyone in league is encouraged to get out in the community and help out someone less fortunate. I had signed up to paint 2 rooms in a lady's house. She has young children and major house issues with mold and leaks. It was messy but felt good to help someone out. Harvey got to spend the day with dad! Josh has really been missing American food. While in Nottingham he ate at TGIFridays, we never went there in Texas but he had been missing America. He really wanted to go again but the wait in Piccadilly Circus was over 45 minutes. We decided to go next door to Aberdeen Steakhouse. It was just okay...nothing special but it was of course expensive for what you got. Nothing like a Texas steak!

Harvey loves his bouncer and laughs at the owl that plays music.

Josh and I attended a baptism class at Westminster Cathedral for Harvey. The baptism/Godparent process is so much easier than in America. Basically attend the info meeting, schedule the baptism, show up and your done! No classes, requirements or paperwork. Harvey will be baptised on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Who does Harvey look like?
Harvey and I met the wives for some street food at The Gherkin. I tried Luardos, "the original burrito boy". It was very similar to Chipotle but they had white meat chicken so they may be the winner! Next came one of my favorite things in London...You Doughnut. As seen from a previous post these are hot doughnut holes with toppings. Again I got caramel, sprinkles, and marshmallows. I got cinnamon sugar this time and it did not disappoint. This was Mary and Kate's first time and they loved it too!

I heard great reviews for a little French restaurant that only serves steak frites. It's called Le Relais de Venise, and I surprised Josh by taking him there on Saturday. They only serve salad with a mustard dressing, steak with a secret sauce, and fries. The only thing the waitress asks is how you would like your steak cooked, blue, medium, or well done. It costs £24 per person, but you also get offered seconds. I thought it was very yummy! The secret sauce is delicious and the fries are the best we have had! They are triple fried and finger lickin' good. This place does not take any sort of reservation and your entire party must be there to be seated. The first seating begins at 6:30. We arrived around 6:20 and already a line was formed. When we left around 8pm there was still a big wait. Advice would be to arrive before 6:30!

This week Harvey got his biometrics done for his passport visa. Talk about an ordeal...try getting a baby who just woke up to look in the camera with no visual stimulation. Sometimes I wish a camera crew followed us around so I could re-watch the craziness we go through! After the photo session we went to the baby clinic. Harvey weighs 12lbs 11 oz!
Happy St. Patrick's Day

I want to remember this little hand
Josh is in Nottingham so its just Harvey and I again. Harvey has regressed on his sleep times. He was going for at least 5 hours and now he's down to maybe 2! Makes me very sleepy so I decided to change up his bedtime routine. Day 1 it took him 40 min to go to sleep on his own, day 2 was 23 min, day 3 was less than 10 min!
Thanks for the monitor Anne Marie
Harvey is getting a little better at napping during the day. I decided to take my first bath since he was born. Yes I had to take it in the afternoon, and it only lasted 5 minutes before he was up and crying but hey its a start!
Bath for mommy!
Finally he's liking the Moby better

One of my besties came for a visit! Meghan and her fiancé, Michael flew in from Dallas on the 20th. During the weekend we took them around to see some of the big sights.
They also brought us some goodies from the USA!
Yay salsa!

We went to dinner at Churchill Arms. It's a tiny pub and Thai restaurant but we made it in with no reservations and our stroller!

Since I won't be in Texas for Meghan's bachelorette party we had a girls night in London. We went to the highest garden in London called Sky Garden. It was beautiful! We got some great views of the city in a super cool setting. We then had dinner at Jamie's Italian in Piccadilly. It was really tasty, and not crazy expensive!

Next time I see Meghan will be at her wedding in Colorado!
I said yes...Bridesmaid!

Harvey got his second round of vaccines, so Cricket and I gave him some extra cuddles.

Harvey has started holding and shaking his rattle.

We made dinner for another wife who just had a baby. Harvey got to meet baby Lucy! He looks so grown up compared to a newborn.

Meghan and Michael are headed back to Texas. We will miss them, and can't wait to go to the wedding in October!
Bye Auntie Meghan
After saying good bye Harvey and I went to the baby clinic to get weighed. Harvey is now 13lbs. 2oz!

Three Months old! This is right before nap time so Harvey looks a little sleepy. He was very interested in his peek a boo monkey this time, and it was difficult to get him to look at me AND smile. He loves smiling at new faces, reading books, and Mommy thinks I have a tooth coming in because I'm drooling all the time and chewing on my hand. When I hear daddy's voice I look all around to see him.
