December 8-14, 2014

I have been getting all of Harvey's stuff washed and put away in his new dresser and packing our hospital bag. I had a doctor appointment this week and all is continues to look great!

A few of the wives met at Rachael's flat to binge watch a British show called Gavin and Stacy. We were having so much fun our day lasted 9 hours! I made peanut butter cookies for our event (thanks Julia!).

Some exciting news...I found my favorite restaurant in London! Its right by the hospital/doctors office. I found it when I got lost last week. I walked by and saw chips on the table and put my face up to the window like a little orphan. I took Josh back this week after the dr. appointment. It's right by Oxford Street Station, and called Wahaca.  I can't wait to share it with our fellow Texans, Matt and Danielle! We sat down and the waitress actually introduced herself, asked if we had ever been there before, explained the menu, made recommendations, and actually checked on us many times...felt like I was back home. These actions are not common at all in London. You are lucky if you get a water refill after asking multiple times. Josh got some tapas and his favorite was the plantain tacos. I got British steak the Mexican way, which was basically fajitas, and the marinade was awesome! Here is a picture of our black bean and chips nibble (appetizer).
I saw what looked just like a Texas taco salad on our way out, and that's my plan for next time! When you leave they give you what looks like a match book, but its actually chili plant seeds. Really cute idea. I'll let you know how our seeds do...once we get a container and some dirt that is...maybe wait for the Spring before you ask me about our plants!

Friday was Christmas Jumper (sweater) Day. In America we have ugly sweater parties, well here (I'm not sure if its a joke or not because I have never heard the word ugly) they sell said ugly sweaters and people wear them all the time. They use this day as a way to raise money for charity. They  even sported them at Josh's work! Of course we had to join in the fun!  Josh got more compliments then me...even from strangers on the street. In case you can't tell they light up!

I did a little shopping at a store called Seraphine. It is a cute little boutique style store for maternity/nursing clothes. Guess who wears a lot of their clothes...that's right Princess Kate. Well I think she is still visiting America so I didn't run into her, but I'll let you know if I ever see her wearing the same shirts I purchased!

We went back to Wahaca for dinner with the Stones...I know so soon, but I can eat Mexican food everyday! I got the taco salad and it was good, the pumpkin seeds were an interesting touch but I still loved it. Danielle tested out the margarita and said it was just like home! Good news all around! This won't be our last time here.

Saturday was a special day...our sister graduated from Midwestern University. Congratulations Katie, we love you! Wish we could have been there! We will see you guys soon!

Oh and in the Christmas spirit these guys were in Victoria train station. Goes to prove you never know what you will see in a train station!
